nyc from my perspective

Over the past few years since I've left Fairfield County, one of the things I've missed was how easy it is to go to New York.  You hop the train and go whenever.  Well, I can't do that as much now, since I have an added "hour" to the trip.  I have "family" that still reside in Fairfield, and by good fortune, some of them also live near the train station in Fairfield, so I can leave "Pearl" at someone's house, or if it's just a daytrip on the weekend, I leave it at the station and hop the train in.

Below are links to various occasions where I've gone from Fairfield, CT to Grand Central Station. I update it now and then, so every blue moon or so, stop back for more pics and waste time from the workplace!

October 2008:

A trip in to see my buddy Rob who has a place on Wall ST. Killer views and fabulus rooftop decor. Thanks to the "Foundation" as well...

December 2008:

A futile attempt to take a good picture of The Tree at Rockefeller Center. There are SO many people, and everyone is bumping into you, or they just walk in front of you, just at the right time; enough to "F" up a good pic. it wasn't all bad, I did get "THE" pic for my 2008 Christmas Card.

Thanks again Rob for your continued hospitality!

March 2009:

For my 40th birthday, I spent it with my friend Chris. He and I would go into NYC often starting when we were "young". As the years passed, we hooked up once in NYC with my friend Gino (See San Fran Pics) and we ate, drank and made merry.

Chris and I hooked up again in NYC and wandered about. I had one wish for that weekend, and we lucked out and got into LUPA in the East Village. The trip alone was worth it for no other reason than LUPA. And I'd be foolish to leave out the trip to Cafe Linda.

Words can not do LUPA justice. Brussle Sprouts to die for. YES Brussel Sprouts! Pasta cooked to perfection, and the duck, extrordinary!

Cafe Linda made a Carrot Soup and Salmon Rigatoni that was fantastic. Both places were as I had hoped and more...

They were both Brilliant!

The food was THAT good in both cases. Now I have 2 places that are manditory stops for my "gluttony" fix!

Smith & Wollensky was fine, but nothing notable.

Anyway, even though Chris and I knew the city well, we decided to take the double decker bus tour around the city, and I took as many pics as I could.

Thanks again Chris, and as per usual, I owe you bigtime!

I'll continue to add to the page as I go into NYC more and more.
